Bellydancer

sharahaza torzo.jpg I was trying to photograph Shahrazad's torso(only) at the her Halloween party, But, it was very difficult . The lighting was poor and there was so much clutter and many guests in my way. Nevertheless, I love this photo..

Jeff from Eastwings Tribal Drumming.

jeff copy400.jpg I was invited to Shahrazad's Halloween Party and there was Jeff playing for all the bellydancers. He was a wonderful surprise and, he was one of  my favorite photographic subjects. You can learn about Jeff at http://tribes.tribe.net/eastwindstribal

My boyfriend ,Fred

fred-copy.gif I have three cats and this one is my favorite. This is Fred , he is fifteen years old. He lives free. He goes in an out of the house all day and all night.  I named him Fred after a nice guy I met in College. Yeah, yeah, I had a crush on Fred but, he already had a girlfriend. My children  always chukled, whenever  I called Fred. "Fred , my boyfriend, where are you?" Now my children say, "Mom, please give your boyfriend a hug or mom your boyfriend is hungry". etc, etc,.  I forgot to mention, Fred has lived with my family since he was two months old. Yes, we adopted him. Oh yeah, in my family ,Fred is not just our senior cat , he is, my boyfriend. YOu can also find Fred at http://www.bellydanceny.com/cats.html (stella's website ).

Alicia and Lola

Alicia-&-Lola.gif In Photography school this photo is a perfect example of the "decisive moment" I was taking a picture of my daughter with her new Halloween outfit  and Lola just happened to pass by.  By the way, Lola was adopted last summer , after I lost Indiana , my house cat. "Lola" is my mother's nickname. My mom lives in Ecuador.

My son, Michael.

michael1.jpg My son Michael and his best friend Charlie are both high school seniors, at a private school in Brooklyn , New York. Michael and Charlie have known each other since they were babies and I mean newborns.  Charlie's mom Amy, and I met while we were both pregnant with our sons.  The boys had a nice upbringing.  Amy and I spent many days or years, strolling and chasing and playing with  our sons at parks, museums, zoos, the botanical garden and our backyards. We also baby sat for each other. Now, the boys are young men ready for college.Last weekend, Amy and I took our sons to New Palz to visit the university. We are not sure where our now, very  big babies, will end up. But, we sure had a good time traveling for three hours with our very handsome teenage boys.

I posted photos of " The Turkish Band Camp all Stars"  on my blog because , i  only shoot in raw format  "A raw image file (sometimes written RAW image file ) contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of a digital camera or image scanner. Raw files are so named because they are not yet processed and ready to be used with a bitmap graphics editor or printed. Normally, the image will be processed by a raw converter in a wide-gamut internal colorspace where precise adjustments can be made before conversion to an RGB file format such as TIFF or JPEG for storage, printing, or further manipulation." In other words, it will take me a while to convert these images to JPEG format. However,if you use Picasa, all images are automatically converted  to jpg but, the quatlity is sacrificed. I will soon work on these photos and load them up to my event gallery.

busy Magdalena

I want to apologize to the dance community for not editing and  posting many of the photos I have taken this past month. The truth is , I have been very busy with my children. My son Michael, will go to college next year. I have to get him ready . Lately, we have been working with Kaplan[tuturing school) and their team of tutors to help Michael increase his SAT scores; the higher the score the better the college choices.   I have also been busy with my daughter, Alicia.. She is only eleven and is very pampered and spoiled. I adore my kids and is hard to say." no", to a cute little face. Alicia is very demanding, she wants my total attention.   Today, my friend Lisa and I took our daughters Alicia and Chloe to the Museum of Natural History.  Our girls have known each other since they were babies. They have a very strong bond and are each others best friend. The girls had so much fun together. Their favorite time at the museum was posing for me in front of the mammal exhibitions. They pretended to be afraid of the giant stuffed bears and gorillas. I was able to take some wonderful pics and will soon make a special slide show.
And, I will make some time to edit edit and post some photos  and increase my gallery collection of dancers dancing to live music. I promise. I almost forgot to mention, I will soon start photography school again. It will be photography 2. I can't wait.
